Girls on the Run and Girls on Track

This tremendously successful, 10-week after school program uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.  Girls on the Run, for girls grades 3-5, and Girls on Track, for grades 6-8, focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health.  At the program's end, all girls participate in a 5K run.  In the 2011 Spring season, 160 girls participated in this program.

The Phantom Phitness Club

This program piloted out of Barkley Elementary School last year and is back in session this Fall.  The Phantom Phitness clus is a free, 10-week after school program that demonstrates to obese-at-risk fifth graders, through physical fitness and good nutrition, that healthy living builds self esteem and changes lives. Certified fitness instructors and nutrition experts use activities and discussions to teach important wellness tools. The Phoenixville YMCA is our major partner in this program.
